We get a lot of questions about here at Lightbox! Below we’ve compiled the most asked questions to make your experience using our space as smooth as possible!

Please note: Due to Christmas sets up for photo sessions in November and December, we do not allow small events (other than client appreciation events and holiday parties) from November 1st-December 29st.

 

CAN I DO A NON-HOLIDAY THEMED PHOTO SESSION DURING NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER?
Yes, in The Loft! While the Loft is decorated for Christmas, there are still plenty of blank spots where you can do non-holiday themed photos. The Loft has a rolling backdrop with two sides (White and a textured tan) and you can also add on a seamless backdrop to your reservation!
The Edison is fully decorated for Christmas so has less blank options. We do not allow you to take down any of the trees or Christmas decorations fixed to the walls or on the mantle.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
Lightbox’s hours are by reservation only from 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M Tuesday - Saturday and 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. on Sundays. We are closed on Mondays! To inquire about booking after hours you can fill out a contact form here. Summer hours differ after daylight savings. Check back throughout the year for updated hours!

WHERE DO I PARK?
Please enter our parking lot off Washington Ave and exit onto Commercial St. If all of the spots are filled, please park in front of Ace Hardware a half a block West of Lightbox.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE ENTRANCE?
You can enter through the grey door on the east side of the building . There is an entrance sign on the door!

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF TIME I CAN RESERVE?
Reservations for photo shoots have a minimum of a 1 hour rental in the Loft and a minimum of a 30 minute rental in the Edison. Reservations for private events have a minimum of a 2 hour rental.

AM I REQUIRED TO PAY FOR MY APPOINTMENT IN FULL UPON BOOKING?
Yes, we require appointments be paid up front. We do not offer refunds for cancelled appointments.

IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY RESERVATION, IS THERE A FEE?
Cancellation policy: We do not offer refunds for cancellations. Rescheduling fees vary and may apply when rescheduling your reservation. If you plan to reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that a new time and date is selected within 48 hours of your original reservation time. Please note that rescheduling will be based upon the availability of Lightbox.

WHAT IS THE PROP CLOSET?
We have a selection of styling items in The Loft you can add on to your rental! Everything included in the prop closet can be found here.

ARE THERE ANY EXTRA FEES WHEN I RESERVE LIGHTBOX?

If you would like to reserve Lightbox outside of our regular business hours, a flat rate fee of $25.00 will apply to your total cost.
- Access to the seamless paper backdrops in the Loft can be added onto your rental for a flat rate fee of $10.00.
- You can also choose to add on our ring light (Loft rentals) or LED panels (Edison rentals) for $15.00 upon arrival if you need additional lighting.

DO YOU HAVE AN ELEVATOR INSIDE LIGHTBOX?
No, the Loft is only accessible by staircase but The Edison is wheelchair friendly!

DO YOU PROVIDE A PHOTOGRAPHER WHEN I RENT A SPACE?
No, we do not provide a photographer for you. We recommend that you plan to bring your own photographer or just use your phone!

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY FOR EACH RENTAL SPACE?
The Loft and the Edison can both accommodate 25 people each depending on how you decide to set up tables and chairs. We strongly suggest booking a private tour before your rental so you can decide which area at Lightbox is best suited for your needs! You can book a tour by clicking here.

WHEN IS THE LIGHTING BEST FOR PHOTO SESSIONS IN EACH SPACE?
Due to the nature of being a natural light photo studio, the brightness depends on how much cloud cover there happens to be on the day that you book.
Loft: from 9:00am - 3:00pm (during winter months)
Edison: 9:00am - 1:00pm (during winter months)
You are always more than welcome to bring in lighting equipment, use our overhead lights or rent our ring light or LED panels for $15 if you want a little extra light!

CAN I USE CONFETTI OR HANG THINGS UP ON THE WALLS OR ROLLING BACKDROP?
Everything must be hung with command strips or painters tape and taken down by the end of your reservation! If you plan on using confetti during your photo session, please DO NOT use foil or glitter confetti. Foil/glitter confetti damages the Lightbox floors. We allow paper confetti to be used in the studio.

CAN I USE LIGHTBOX FOR VIDEO PRODUCTION?
Yes! Being that the Loft and the Edison can be rented out by different guests at the same time, we can not guarantee the space will be quiet. If you are doing any audio recording you must rent out the entire space! Exceptions may occur. Please contact us if you are unsure whether or not to rent out the entire space for your video production.

DO YOU HAVE A KITCHEN?
Yes! We have a small kitchenette with a full sized fridge, microwave, and 2 catering drop sinks to keep beverages cool. We do not have an oven or a stove top or heating trays.

DO YOU PROVIDE DISPOSABLE CUTLERY OR DISHES FOR EVENTS?
No, we do not. If you are planning on serving food or drinks during your reservation you will want to make sure you bring any cups, plates, cutlery or ice you may need!

CAN I SERVE ALCOHOL DURING MY EVENT?
We recommend that you hire a licensed bar tending company for any distribution of alcohol.
